I have a new ID (issued two days ago). I can be heard on the local repeater, but I don't transmit across the Internet links. Why is this?

If it is because I have a new ID, how long will it take before I can use the system?

Hello Joshua !

I checked the Brandmeister database, and confirm that your ID 3105372 is there. Can you confirm this is the one you are using ?

I can also see that the Brandmeister network is accepting transmissions from you, which have been sent over the network. All transmissions have been made from repeater K5NSX. Do you have a hotspot that you could try on Brandmeister, and testing on different master servers ?

Let me know,

Thanks!

The problem is definitely in the master server that our local repeater uses. I think it is 3102. I have had several others confirm this issue. It is affecting everyone with an ID that was created anytime in the past week.

It may be that the repeater requires more than having an ID, but being authorized in their system. Some systems do this for a donation, or to just be sure they know who is using the system. You may need to contact the control operators of the repeater to find out if there are any restrictions like this.

That isn't the problem in this case. It seems that all Arkansas (3105) IDs 3105347 and later are not able to use BrandMeister. Their traffic doesn't traverse the master servers from one repeater to another nor to Hoseline.

Thanks Luke. He's exactly right, Joshua. Luke (AE5AU) has helped me do some research into this and he discovered what might have been a problem in the ID issuing process. In any case, please upvote this question so the devs might see it. Thanks.

Too bad there isn't a way to file a trouble-ticket for this issue. A question forum like this isn't as efficient as something like bugzilla.

Closed source software must have a way to get support when needed. With open-source software you can get away with having "community support", etc.
