The issue we had with the older dashboard (version 1) was that a lot of people deployed their own dashboard. As updates were added to the dashboard, these clones were not updated, as, since not everyone knows on how to use git, they thought they would lose their progress made on customizing the dashboard (adding links for their own country ect...) thus they did not update their dashboard.
This followed in lots of complaints with "issues". This is why the dashboard is now being developed in closed source. As soon as we go to a "final" release, where all of the items in our backlog are added, we will be releasing the source code of the dashboard. This is however far away, as we do push new features every month and try to avoid outdated copies to not confuse people. This does not mean that it will stay closed forever, only until we've reached a certain point of added features and have a stable dashboard.
The API behind this will, of course keep in closed development as this communicates with all master servers worldwide, manages the core parts of the network and things like that. Of course an in detail documentation about this will be added to a community platform (our wiki for example) so people who want, can use our APIs.
We fully support open source development, especially in the ham community, but we do have to keep some parts of the source closed, I hope you can understand that.
Projects like hoseline and the dashboard do have their own github project (with no or almost no source code) that can be used for issue reporting.

It would be nice if the pubilc GitHub project for the dashboard (https://github.com/BrandMeister/Proje...) saw more frequent commits. Many changes get pushed out to brandmeister.network with no public changelog that I can find. https://wiki.brandmeister.network/ind... doesn't include Dashboard changes.
