Hey all, wondering if you can help. Just snagged a SharkRF openspot at Dayton and am trying to get it running on DMR on Brandmeister, i can get to where the connector is connecting, but it never connects. What am i doing wrong? Everything else appears to work, just can`t seem to connect. Do i need to register or something on that order to properly connect? Just checked and the openspot is STILL trying to connect, right now without success. Please help! New user. Thanx. P.S. Tried with the default passwords given in the manual for my openspot, but right now still no joy.

Make sure the server which you are trying to connect works, or try another server. Make sure you have filled out all the necessary information listed in openSPOT's user manual for the Homebrew connector. Make sure you have a registered DMR ID, and you filled out the server password correctly (the default password for BM servers is passw0rd).

You can find a tutorial video on how to connect to BM with openSPOT here:

Hmmm, i`ll have a look after i get off work later on today, that just might explain things a bit :). Second question, how do i know if the server i`m trying to connect works? I`d assume if i don`t get a connect after...let`s say, a minute that that one dosen`t work? Thanx!

Update after getting off work, looked again at the DMR connector, all is good there, tried multiple servers, still no joy. Could this be a case of my router blocking the connection? Also, what is the correct port numbers for the servers? Is there a list somewhere? Thanx for the help!

I`m thinking i`m about ready to throw the white flag and give up on doing DMR with my openspot sadly, tried for a while now and still no joy connecting to the network. Unless i can get to my router and see if the ports are being blocked i`m totally stumped here.

Hey all, sorry for not getting back to ya, but i wasnt feeling that well (almost called in sick to work but didnt :)). Great news! Figured out what was wrong with my SharkRF, in laymans terms i didnt have a backup server entered for the openspot to try if the primary one wasn`t working, entered that and all was fixed. Thanx all for the help! 73. N9NRA
