Dynamic talk groups - which time slot?

Each repeater listing here shows which talk groups are static and which time slot the static talk groups are on (thank you!). For dynamic talk groups (that's everything else) how do we know which time slot they're on (for purpose of building code plug)? Is it up to each repeater owner, or is it hard coded, or is there a rule of thumb?

Thanks! Ed WA6AXX

As BM is basically not TS aware, you can use a dynamic TG on the slot of your choice. To build suitable codeplugs, it however is considered useful finding some agreement, usually similar among neighbor regions.

In Germany normal usage is linking wide are dynamic groups on TS1, and more local ones on TS2. Of course when one TS is busy people often just use the other one.

So to help me understand completely... Dynamic TGs can be accessed from either TS, but it's best to use the recommended TS, and the other TS can be used as backup. Correct? But Static TGs are assigned to a specific TS on a particular repeater. Correct? Thanks and 73, Ed WA6AXX

Yes, it sounds like you understand. You might want to check with your local repeater owner or master admin. For the PAPA System, we publish a talkgroup matrix for recommended timeslot usage and indicate to use TS1 for random talkgroups.
