Hi, After some time without my MMDVM and access do Brandmester I saw that you add Talker Alias feature. This seems to be sent by BM itself, because none of my mates I talked with has this thing enabled in radio (some of them don't even know what it is). Unfortunately I had very serious problem with my Hytera PD415 which reacted very strange to TA. When TA was transmitted, radio just muted received audio (i heard only first 1-2 seconds) and blinks green LED in uncommon way. Now it works for me because somebody (Hytera dealer) give me firmware update package with info that this is caused by bug in radio firmware. As far as he told some old Motorola DMR radios has this problem too. Motorola prepared adequate software update for these radio which fix all problems with Talker Alias. Unfortunately in both cases (Motorola and Hytera) these files are not officially published and for some users this can be very difficult to deal with.

So I have question. Could you add feature do SelfCare which will give ability to fully disable/filter Talker Alias per repeater? TA seems to be only little gizmo, but it will be shame when I finally install some long range DMR repeater in my area, and new DMR users will have to face such serious problems at the beginning. This is very discouraging.

From Jonathan Naylor

«... There is now a new entry in the MMDVM.ini to suppress the RF transmission of these new types whether received via RF or over the network. If they are received from a local RF user they will be sent over the network but not retransmitted on RF if the flag is set to 1. It is called “EmbeddedLCOnly” and appears in the [DMR] section. The default is 0 which passes all types through. I wonder what will happen on commercial Motorola and Hytera repeaters which I imagine won’t have the same level of control? ...»
