Dump question but I'm still having trouble registering. I assume that I need to register with Brandmeister to add my ID to their network before I can connect through Brandmeister. I have an Openspot ready and I think radio programmed properly but will need to read more about using reflectors or TG's. Have tried connecting but nothing yet.

Thanks, Guy KG7MEL

Hey Guy,

You need to register if you want to - manage your profile picture (that shows up when you talk, for example on the BM livestream

  • manage any repeaters you might have

  • manage your selfcare profile (for example change your aprs settings).

  • manage your hotspots

For the last option, it means that you can add info like where your hotspot is located, which static talkgroups it has, any default reflectors or static talkgroups only active for certain hours (timed static tg's).

So, registering does give you quite some advantages, but you are not forced to register to use the network. Once your dmr id has been approved, it is synced into our database in a matter of hours, and once you're in the database, you're allowed to use the network. Only valid dmr id's can use it to prevent any abuse.

If you have any issues with registering, feel free to mail me on
