Auto static talkgroups (again)

I am trying to understand auto static talk groups. I know that TG4000 clears the auto statics and that supposedly the first talk group transmitted on after a 4000 should stick as the auto static. This seems to work fine. However, if I change to another talk group and transmit, that one then becomes the auto static. It seems to me that the auto static is assigned to the last talk group that is transmitted on instead of the talk group immediately following a 4000 transmission.

Is there a definitive answer on how this is supposed to work?

I have difficulty with this too. It is especially difficult to key up another talk group when there is a lot of traffic on the last keyed up talk group. My transceiver will show "busy" during transmit to my hotspot until I can manage to quickly key up on another talk group between transmissions.

Yes, that is correct. The tooltip on the SelfCare page has misspellings and is missing a period so it reads strangely:

Auto-Static: This talkgroup is set automaticly due to its the last talkgroup that has been keyed up clear by dailing TG4000

It should say this:

Auto-Static: The last talkgroup that is keyed up becomes "auto-static" and will not time out. Clear by dialing TG4000.
